On January 15th, 1919, Boston witnessed a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank filled with molasses burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that raged through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, reaching heights 25 feet in some areas, was horrifying. Buildings were flattened under the power of the unstoppable goo.
